BIOGRAPHY
![]() There are some people that have an unusual drive and you can see a certain "fire in their eyes". Casey Putsch is no exception to this and races with the same great intensity with which he lives. Putsch is a 26 year-old resident of Tiffin, Ohio and a graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in fine art, specializing in industrial design. He maintains a high level of athleticism to have the edge in any competitive opportunity. His training shows a focus on the cardiovascular system as well as core, upper body, and neck strength for high-performance driving. Putsch holds an FIA international B, an SCCA National Competition, SVRA, and VSCDA licenses. Putsch's earlier driving exploits consist of Sprint, Shifter, and Enduro Kart racing. He has been racing in Solo II competitions for many years and while in college was the test and competition driver for The Ohio State University's international Formula SAE Team. Presently, Putsch is road-racing vintage cars and enjoys combining his mechanical and driving skills with his love for historic automobiles in such a professional and gentlemanly environment. To stay sharp he practices regularly on a 125cc shifter kart.
Putsch looks towards the future with great drive and enthusiasm. As a young mid-western man, his heart lies with a future in Indy-Cars, but Putsch is a modern-day renaissance man of racing. In the future it is just as likely to see him driving a late 1920's Bentley in the Paris to Peking Rally or a "belly-tank" car on the Salt Flats, as it would be to see him competing wheel-to-wheel in a present day formula car. Putsch is planning on vintage motorcycle road racing in the near future. Putsch has always used his mechanical ability to forward his car and racing interests. He restores and maintains all of his own equipment and only has outside work done if he lacks the facilities to get the job done. During his senior year of college, Putsch worked as a Ferrari mechanic and when he wasn't in a lecture or taking an exam, he was busy adjusting valves on a Testarossa engine or rebuilding a Weber carburetor. Putsch's skills range from that of welding and machining to that of composites and computer aided drawing and data-acquisition. He has even designed and sewed up a pair of his own driving gloves!
Aside from special cars, Putsch's interests range from that of fly-fishing to fencing. He also enjoys golf, fine-art, history, music, and antiques ranging from pocket-watches and fountain pens, to slot-cars.
