Upon arriving at Hedges Boyer Park in Tiffin Ohio, you will be guided to the show venue where you will park among 50-100 year old shade trees. The location is especially pleasant, as it is bordered by a winding stream. While the show is open to the public, exhibitors will feel confident parking their prized cars in this secure and picturesque location.

Horsepower for History was conceived from the idea of using peoples' love for the world's cars throughout the last 100 years to benefit the preservation of our American history and historic sites. Whether you're touring in an Auburn Boat-tail Speedster, "bombing" around in a Mini Cooper, or dreaming of the Italian Autostrada while driving your Lamborghini, you are experiencing the culture of your car's country and the history of when it was created. During your evening in the park you will enjoy even more in this festive atmosphere.

Think of it as a car party in the park with structure of a concours! An evening that a family would enjoy as much as "car guys". After the awards ceremony, you may choose to finish the evening in leisure at the park or with a bang. As a new twist on the "Concours d' Elegance", a police escort will guide a caravan of show cars lead by the award winners on a tour from the show field, through historic downtown Tiffin, and back to the park!

Awards

Fine antique "Tiffin" crystal stemware will be given as awards (see picture). The concours' host city of Tiffin had a one-hundred year history of fine glass making. The pieces given as awards are identical to those used by the Trumans, the Presleys, and even at the Monaco palace. The grand award is an identical gold-rimmed champagne glass to which Princess Grace Kelly acquired from Tiffany's in New York for use in the Monaco palace with Prince Rainier!

Food Reinos

Reino's Italian Restaurant will serve food and drinks. This family started the town's first pizza parlor and is the oldest family restaurant in Tiffin! Now on their third generation this restaurant is the community favorite.

Sunday driving tour (must register by July 15th)

Show cars will meet on Sunday morning in front of the Seneca County Historic Museum where a light breakfast will be available outside. Parking is secure as the street will be reserved for show cars only. The Museum has agreed to open its doors just so that the tour may enjoy its displays. Entrants will see displays of antique glass, weapons, and musical devices such as the 1886 Gramophone and Edison Talking Machine, among many others. Entrants will also enjoy hearing music from the restored 1912 Violano Virtuoso machine.

The tour will depart the museum via police escort through town and then to enjoy the winding country roads. There will be a break to stretch your legs halfway through at an early 1800's Indian Mill, in a shaded park on the river. Along the way, the tour will enjoy historic sites and cross a covered bridge. At the end of the tour, lunch will be served at Seneca Hills Golf Course in their "turn of the century" banquet room.

After lunch the tour will caravan into historic downtown Tiffin and meet at Crystal Traditions. The tour will be given a private tour of their fine glass making facilities and will see a glass blowing and etching demonstration! Special thanks to Crystal Tradition for providing this unique opportunity for the tour participants.

A backup car will provide tools and supplies in case of mechanical gremlins. Entrants should make certain they have a full fuel tank and should notify officials if they have any special needs. Routes will prove enjoyable for those driving everything from a pre-war to a modern exotic car.
